World oil prices today
World oil prices increased simultaneously on December 23 (Vietnam time). At 10:01, WTI crude oil was at 69.86 USD/barrel, up 0.40 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.58%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 69.46 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 69.47 USD/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $72.94 a barrel, up $0.38 a barrel, or 0.52 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $72.56 a barrel and opened today at $72.72 a barrel.
Thus, after a week of sharp decline, world oil prices increased simultaneously in the morning trading session of the first week of the week. According to analysts, recently, world crude oil prices have fluctuated due to the direct impact of the decision to extend the production cuts of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC+) until the end of the first quarter of 2025.
In addition, the market is currently concerned about the US Federal Reserve (Fed) abandoning market support with interest rate programs as well as the prospect of slowing demand, especially in China.

On December 23, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of December 19. Accordingly, all gasoline and oil products increased simultaneously. The price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 383 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline increased by 408 VND/liter, diesel increased by 478 VND/liter, kerosene increased by 402 VND/liter, and fuel oil increased by 329 VND/kg.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the price adjustment period this afternoon, petroleum prices may decrease.
In particular, the price of RON 95-III gasoline is forecasted to decrease by about 400 VND/liter; E5 gasoline by about 370 VND/liter; and Diesel oil by about 40 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 24 times and decreased 26 times. Oil prices have increased 22 times and decreased 28 times.
