Tiktoker P.T, who has 5.8 million followers on Tiktok, once shared that he earns more than 100 million VND from selling goods every night by livestreaming. P.T also revealed that he earns billions of VND per month from his clothing store (including sales via livestream).

Meanwhile, TikToker L.C, who has 7.1 million followers on Tiktok, once revealed that there are months when he earns several hundred million VND. At peak times, many jobs can earn nearly 1 billion VND thanks to livestreaming sales, product reviews, etc.

TikToker C.M.D once shared videos filmed for brands that if they become a trend and sell many products, they can receive a commission of 400 - 500 million VND/month.

Not only Tiktokers, artists also earn huge income from this job.

In the talk show "Stories I'm Afraid to Tell Xuan Lan" in 2020, Le Duong Bao Lam shared that it was his livestream sales job that helped his family's life "prosper" when he could use this income to build a house, buy a car...

In 2023, Duong Cam Lynh shared with reporters that she once owed about 6 billion VND. After that, she focused on livestreaming to sell products to make a living. Currently, according to the actress, she has paid off the 6 billion VND debt after more than 1 year of hard work selling products.

At the talk show "Weekend Stories" in 2019, with the topic "Artists selling online", Ho Bich Tram said that after deducting packaging and printing costs, the monthly profit from online business was up to 300 million VND at that time.

Representatives of beauty queens and runners-up such as Thuy Tien, Tieu Vy... shared with Lao Dong Newspaper that there are currently brands that will invite beauties to livestream and sell products to the audience. The beauty queens will be paid according to the contract and declare taxes according to regulations.

How should artists working in e-commerce declare taxes?

Speaking to reporters, lawyer Truong Van Tuan - Trang Sai Gon Law Firm - said that according to Clause 1, Clause 9, Article 3 of Decree 52/2013/ND-CP, people with e-commerce activities (including activities on e-commerce trading floors), including celebrities, artists... are obliged to pay taxes according to regulations. Taxpayers' obligations are stipulated in Article 17 of the 2019 Law on Tax Administration, including: Carrying out tax registration and using tax codes according to the provisions of law.

Declare accurately, honestly, completely and submit tax records on time. Be responsible before the law for the accuracy, honesty and completeness of tax records.

Pay taxes, late payments, and fines in full, on time, and at the right place.

Record accurately, honestly and completely all activities that give rise to tax obligations.

Prepare and deliver invoices and documents to buyers according to the correct quantity, type, and actual payment value when selling goods and providing services according to the provisions of law...

Lawyer Tuan also added: "According to Article 10 of Circular 40/2021/TT-BTC, the basis for calculating tax is as follows:

Tax rates calculated on revenue include value added tax (VAT) rates and personal income tax (PIT) rates applied in detail to each field and industry according to the instructions in Appendix I issued with this Circular.

In case a business household or individual conducts business in many fields and industries, the business household or individual shall declare and calculate tax according to the tax rate calculated on revenue.

In case business households and business individuals cannot determine the taxable revenue of each field or profession or determine it inconsistently with business reality, the tax authority shall determine the taxable revenue of each field or profession according to the provisions of the law on tax administration.

People with e-commerce activities can choose the tax declaration method suitable for their business model".
