World oil prices today
World oil prices increased simultaneously on December 26 (Vietnam time). At 10:30, WTI crude oil was at 70.39 USD/barrel, up 0.29 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.41%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 70.10 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 70.23 USD/barrel.
Brent crude oil was at $73.24 a barrel, up $0.25 a barrel, or 0.43 percent. Brent crude oil closed the previous session at $73.17 a barrel and opened today at $73.39 a barrel.
Thus, world oil prices tend to stabilize after slight fluctuations in previous sessions. Because the US market was closed for Christmas yesterday, low liquidity made prices more stable.
The outlook for the oil market next year is being negatively impacted as supply from countries outside the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies, known as OPEC+, is increasing, while demand is slowing, mainly in China.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On December 26, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities currently applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail prices of gasoline and oil were adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of December 19. Accordingly, all gasoline and oil products increased simultaneously. The price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased by 383 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline increased by 408 VND/liter, diesel increased by 478 VND/liter, kerosene increased by 402 VND/liter, and fuel oil increased by 329 VND/kg.

Hoang Trong General Trading Company Limited: Diesel 0.05S - II: 1,400 VND/liter, applied at Hai Linh warehouse, Hai Phong; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,450 VND/liter, applied at Hai Linh warehouse, Hai Phong, Hoang Huy, Nghi Son; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter, applied at Bac Ninh warehouse; E5 gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter at Dinh Vu warehouse, Petec.
Tu Luc Petroleum: Discount on Diesel 0.05S-II: 1,400 VND/liter; Diesel 0.001S-V: 1,300; RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,400 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,300 VND/liter.
MIPEC Gasoline: Discount on RON 95 - III gasoline: 1,250 VND/liter; E5 gasoline: 1,050 VND/liter; Diesel 0.05S-II: 1,350 VND/liter. Applicable to the Northern region.
Forecast of domestic gasoline prices next period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the price adjustment period this afternoon, petroleum prices may decrease sharply.
In particular, the price of RON 95-III gasoline is forecasted to decrease by about 450 VND/liter; E5 gasoline by about 420 VND/liter; and Diesel by about 100 VND/liter.
Since the beginning of the year, since the price adjustment session on January 4, gasoline prices have increased 24 times and decreased 26 times. Oil prices have increased 22 times and decreased 28 times.
