World oil price today
World oil prices today increased simultaneously. At 11:31 (Vietnam time), WTI crude oil was at 70.09 USD/barrel, up 0.33 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.47%. WTI crude oil closed the previous trading session at 69.76 USD/barrel, opening today's session at 70.09 USD/barrel.
Brent oil was at 73.15 USD/barrel, up 0.34 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.47%. Brent oil closed the previous trading session at 72.81 USD/barrel and opened today's session at 73.36 USD/barrel.
Thus, world oil prices in today's trading session increased simultaneously. The strong increase occurred in the morning session with an increase of more than 1%, then gradually cool down.
According to analysts, the increase in crude oil prices in the first morning of the week is a signal to reverse the market this March.
Last week, US gasoline and distillate inventories unexpectedly increased by 400,000 barrels and 3.9 million barrels respectively, supporting oil prices to decrease. However, after a heated debate between US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, the prospect of a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia is at risk of disappearing, pushing oil prices up again.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On March 3, retail gasoline prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in regions 1 and 2 (46 provinces and cities are applying) are as follows:
The above domestic retail price of gasoline and oil was adjusted by the Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade in the price management session on the afternoon of February 27, 2025. Accordingly, E5 RON 92 gasoline price decreased by 197 VND/liter, RON 95-III gasoline decreased by 19 VND/liter, kerosene decreased by 178 VND/liter, diesel decreased by 106 VND/liter. Only mazut oil increased by 19 VND/kg.

Forecast of domestic gasoline prices in the coming period
According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, gasoline prices may decrease slightly. Of which, gasoline price is forecast to decrease by 400-500 VND/liter; oil price decreases by about 350-450 VND/liter.
