From June 1, unleaded gasoline must be blended and mixed into E10 gasoline for use in gasoline engines nationwide.
Currently, Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) and Military Petroleum Corporation (MIPECORP) have switched to selling bio-gasoline throughout the system.
On May 22, Petrolimex also announced the selling price of E10 bio-gasoline.
Accordingly, E10 RON 95-III bio-gasoline has a price of VND 25,050/liter for region 1; VND 25,550/liter for region 2.
E10 RON 95-V bio-gasoline has a price of 25,950 VND/liter for region 1; 26,460 VND/liter for region 2.
The current price of E10 gasoline is about 490 VND/liter lower than RON 95 mineral gasoline.
Petroleum prices announced by Petrolimex are applied at Petrolimex's distribution system in Vietnam; including Petrolimex gas stations and small-scale gasoline and oil sales points belonging to Petrolimex; stores of traders acting as agents, general agents selling Petrolimex gasoline and oil and stores of traders receiving retail rights in the form of franchising from Petrolimex.
For areas far from ports, far from headwork warehouses, far from petroleum production facilities as prescribed in Clause 27, Article 1, Decree 95/2021/ND-CP dated November 1, 2021 of the Government (Petrolimex abbreviated as "Zone 2"); The General Director of Petrolimex empowers the Directors of Petrolimex member petroleum companies to directly decide the actual selling price in the business organization area but must not exceed the price level of Zone 2 mentioned above.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the State has not yet announced the price of E10 bio-gasoline. Businesses are calculating selling prices themselves according to business costs of businesses.
To put E10 into circulation from June 1, 2026 and promptly announce the base price for businesses to implement in the transitional context, special regulations are needed.
When bio-gasoline is widely consumed in the market, management agencies will identify popular consumer goods and have sufficient data to determine the factors constituting the base price.
In the immediate future, the item E10 RON 95-III is identified to implement the announcement of the base price. After 3 months of implementation, when the popular consumer biofuel item is identified, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will announce the base price of this item.
