On September 12, the Department of Industry and Trade of Gia Lai province said that in the first 8 months of this year, the total export turnover of the province reached more than 2.18 billion USD, equivalent to 75.8% of the 2025 plan.
Gia Lai aims to reach 2.9 billion USD in exports by the end of 2025. Of which, the East Gia Lai region reached more than 1.19 billion USD, accounting for nearly 70% of the annual plan.
Goods recorded clear growth including: seafood over 100 million USD, wood nearly 300 million USD, wood products 309 million USD, textiles over 255 million USD...
In the Western Gia Lai region, export turnover reached nearly 989 million USD, up over 52% over the same period and completing 89.9% of the annual plan.
Of which, coffee is the main export item with more than 932 million USD, the rest is fruit, rubber latex, passion fruit, durian...
According to the provincial Department of Industry and Trade, from August 7, 2025, the US will officially adjust the counterpart tax on Vietnamese goods to 20%. This is an important market, accounting for about 40% of export turnover in the East Gia Lai region, mainly wooden furniture, wood chips, wood tablets, garments, and seafood.
In western Gia Lai, the export share to the US is about 6.8%, mainly coffee and processed fruits.
Exporting enterprises in the area have proactively exploited Asian, Middle Eastern, and European markets to diversify markets, increase revenue, limit tax risks and reduce logistics service costs.
