The "digital brain" of the Capital
Inside the VNPT IDC Hoa Lac complex, instead of ordinary office buildings, this is a world of modern machines with tightly secured data storage and processing equipment.
Taking us on a tour, a representative of VNPT IDC Hoa Lac said that the Hanoi Main Data Center has the most modern technology in Vietnam, ensuring stable operation, high security and meeting future expansion needs.
The highlight of the Center is the use of private cloud computing technology, helping data systems operate flexibly, safely and cost-effectively. The security system is designed with 6 strict layers of defense, from the outside to the data storage area (Data Hall), ensuring the highest level of data security. At the same time, the team of operating experts at the center are all well-trained and possess international certificates such as CDFOM, CDRP, CDMS, CTDC, CCNA, CCNP, ready to ensure the system operates continuously 24/7.
Notably, this center not only serves the management work of the government but is also a "right-hand man" for the people and businesses. More than 300 information technology applications of Hanoi city (document management system, administrative procedures, receiving citizen feedback...) have been converted to cloud computing platform, thereby helping Hanoi people easily access online public services, from administrative registration to medical and educational applications...
This center is also responsible for ensuring the management of the entire technical infrastructure system of the city, including centralized and distributed servers at units, managing the WAN network connecting to all departments, branches, districts, towns, maintaining stable and continuous operations 24/7; building, linking, integrating shared software and specialized software to serve the information technology application program in state agencies and serving citizens and businesses.
“With advanced digital infrastructure and breakthrough technology solutions, the Main Data Center will be an important foundation for Hanoi to build a smart city to better serve people and businesses,” affirmed the representative of VNPT IDC Hoa Lac.
According to this representative, every day, the system processes millions of data requests from the city's information technology applications. But thanks to virtualization and cloud computing technology, everything operates smoothly, quickly and stably.
Strategic "companion"
According to experts, Hanoi is a pioneer in considering data as the “lifeblood” of a modern city. And, the Main Data Center will play a core role in building a smart city ecosystem. Accordingly, data from transportation, healthcare, education, and environmental systems are all connected and processed centrally. This not only helps the government manage more effectively but also supports decisions based on scientific analysis, instead of emotions.
In order for the Hanoi Main Data Center to come into operation, in addition to the determination and close direction of the capital's leaders, there is also the commitment of the Joint Venture of Contractors Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group, Sun Viet Information Technology Development Joint Stock Company (SVTech) and VinaPhone Telecommunication Services Corporation.
However, not only the Main Data Center, VNPT has long accompanied the Hanoi People's Committee in the journey into the digital age with many important technology projects, such as: Deploying the Reporting Information System (VNPT-VRS) integrated with the Government Reporting Information System; Centralized document management and administration system (VNPT-iOffice), effectively supporting the direction and administration of the city...
“This Hanoi City Main Data Center project not only demonstrates the trust that the city has in VNPT, but also represents a breakthrough in the capital’s approach to technology. Instead of investing in operations, Hanoi has switched to an IT service leasing model, a direction recommended by the Government to optimize costs and resources,” said a leader of VNPT Group.
The center is not only a technical infrastructure, but also a foundation for the long-term development of Hanoi. The system will help state agencies improve their leadership, management and decision-making capacity based on data. Information technology applications at the center operate stably, continuously and securely, meeting the needs of people, businesses and the government in the most effective way. At the same time, the integration of advanced technology such as VMware virtualization solutions and Morpheus Data cloud management software also helps save the state budget, increase flexibility and efficiency in operations.
According to experts, the Infrastructure Data Center is a solid foundation for Hanoi to continue implementing its strategic goals of comprehensive digital transformation. With this thorough investment in technology and infrastructure, they expect Hanoi to become a symbol of innovation and sustainability, ready to enter the era of national development./.
