Many cases detected
The Dak Lak Provincial Market Management Sub-Department said that it has discovered and handled many cases related to cosmetics, functional foods, and smuggled goods. Over the past month, functional forces have handled 58 violations, seized thousands of products of unknown origin, with a total fine of nearly 1.3 billion VND.
For example, on January 25, the Provincial Market Management Sub-Department coordinated with the Traffic Police Department to stop a truck driven by Mr. T.V.D (resident of Ninh Binh).
Searching the vehicle, functional forces discovered that the vehicle was transporting 2,950 mobile phone screens of unknown origin. The products were disguised and subtly hidden. At the time of inspection, the vehicle owner could not provide invoices or documents proving the legality of the goods.
Also in January, functional forces inspected and handled a business establishment in Ea Khal commune and forced the destruction of 3,566 cosmetic products of various types of unknown origin.
According to Dak Lak Provincial Police, with the development of e-commerce and social networking platforms..., the purchase and sale of goods takes place quickly and conveniently, but also contains many risks.
Subjects often take advantage of the psychology of being greedy for cheap prices and preferring low-priced branded goods to offer "real goods" products, advertise excessive uses, and even fake fan pages and websites of reputable businesses to deceive consumers.
In 2025, the Dak Lak Provincial Market Management Sub-Department inspected and handled 80 cases related to establishments trading in goods of unknown origin. At the same time, issued decisions to sanction administrative violations, paid nearly 6 billion VND to the State budget; the total value of confiscated goods is more than 5 billion VND.
Tightening management
Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huy Thanh - Head of the Traffic Police Department, Dak Lak Provincial Police - said: "At the time near the 2026 Lunar New Year, the situation of transporting prohibited goods and goods of unknown origin is very complicated. The traffic police force throughout the province will continue to close checkpoints, strengthen patrols and controls on key national highways. Thereby, promptly detect and strictly handle cases of passenger cars and vehicles transporting smuggled goods and goods of unknown origin in accordance with the law.
Mr. Vuong Minh Son - Head of Dak Lak Provincial Market Management Sub-Department - said: "At the time near the 2026 Lunar New Year, the situation of violations in the business of smuggled goods, goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods, violations of intellectual property rights and food safety is complicated. Online goods trading activities are increasingly developing strongly, causing inspection and control work to face many difficulties and challenges. Therefore, we will continue to improve the capacity to prevent, detect and handle violations in the field of e-commerce, and at the same time strengthen coordination between functional forces to prevent acts of taking advantage of the online environment to trade in counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, protecting consumer rights".
