Latest update on September 10, at least 4 insurance companies have listed initial losses of technical assets due to the impact of super typhoon No. 3.
On September 10, BIDV Insurance Corporation (BIC) announced that it had recorded nearly 500 losses, including 16 marine insurance losses, more than 250 technical property insurance losses, and more than 180 motor vehicle insurance losses.
The total compensation amount is estimated at nearly 200 billion VND. BIC is continuing to update the damage figures.
Similarly, Vietnam Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Industry and Trade Insurance Corporation (VBI) said that as of the end of yesterday (September 9), it is estimated that after storm No. 3, there were over 400 losses.
At PVI Insurance, this unit also recorded 210 property insurance losses, with an estimated compensation amount of 320 billion VND (not including losses in motor vehicle and personal insurance).
At BSH Insurance, the unit has recorded nearly 100 losses in property, engineering, and maritime operations. Of which, property insurance has recorded more than 60 losses.
Notably, AIA recorded 5 customers who died, including 4 customers in Hai Duong and 1 customer in Quang Ninh. The total insurance benefits of these 5 customers at AIA Vietnam are estimated at about 6.5 billion VND.
According to the survey, insurance companies all said they are supporting customers to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3, and at the same time supporting customers to count and assess damages.
