Taking a look at the picture of the first quarter business results of listed businesses, one of the important industries that help the market and the economy go up to be the financial industry. While the whole market grew by 11.8% over the same period last year, the financial group recorded a growth rate of 14.1%, mainly thanks to the motivation from the banking group. Some other industries also maintain stable growth as real estate, with 3 consecutive quarters increased steadily.
One of the recent prominent industries is securities, especially related to the KRX system. The business results of this industry group have a clear differentiation, the main reason lies in the self-employment and margin lending sectors.
The stock market is expecting an upgrade in September, promising to bring large capital flows to Vietnam, thereby boosting liquidity and growth for the securities industry group. Currently, the stock industry's revenue mainly comes from margin lending, because the brokerage segment is facing fierce competition with the zero-fee policy, affecting brokerage revenue. Therefore, margin lending is expected to become the main growth driver.
On the market, we often hear the saying "Sell in May and go away". One of the factors that causes this phenomenon to occur is that after businesses hold general meetings of shareholders and announce their first quarter business results, the market falls into an information gap, and must wait until the second quarter business results to be able to establish a new trend.
Stock analyst, Dr. Nguyen Duy Phuong, Strategic Investment Director of DG Capital, said that in addition to the factor of corporate information, investors currently also need to pay special attention to tax issues. This is a factor that has a great influence, strongly affecting the market. Therefore, at present, investors who have achieved a reasonable profit should consider taking profits and monitoring new developments in tax policy, instead of focusing only on information from businesses.
