According to information from the Quang Ninh Economic Zone Management Board, after 9 days of piloting weekend customs clearance, the total number of vehicles transporting import and export goods reached 1,484 vehicles.
Import and export turnover reached 161.23 million USD, with more than 1,698 declarations; total import tax revenue reached 14.989 billion VND.
The average number of vehicles cleared through customs reached nearly 186 vehicles/day, equivalent to 48.5% compared to normal days.
On average, every weekend there are about 130 businesses completing procedures, including 28 new businesses.
The weekend customs clearance pilot activity at the goods control channel in the Bac Luan II bridge area, Mong Cai International Border Gate will be implemented from March 7, 2026, with a time of 6 hours/day, morning from 8am to 11am, afternoon from 2pm to 5pm.
Key commodities include raw materials for production, automobiles, electronic equipment, auto parts, seafood and agricultural products.

On April 4 alone, import and export activities through border gates recorded 517 declarations with 245 shipments, import and export turnover reached 32.964 billion VND.
According to the Quang Ninh Economic Zone Management Board, the weekend customs clearance pilot has initially brought positive effects, creating favorable conditions for businesses.
In the coming time, functional forces will continue to reform administrative procedures, promote the application of information technology, reduce logistics costs, and aim for official customs clearance 7 days/week.
