On April 6, speaking with Lao Dong reporter, Mr. Hoang Khanh Duy - Deputy Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone - said that the first quarter of 2025 has ended with positive signals, import-export activities through border gates, specialized roads and customs clearance in Lang Son have been maintained smoothly and stably.
Prolonged problems, especially at the Tan Thanh - Po Chai crossing ( near landmark 1090-1091), have also been resolved and operations have resumed.
In just the first three months of the year, there were more than 104,000 vehicles carrying import and export goods through the area, an increase of nearly 10% over the same period last year. Of which, the number of imported vehicles is overwhelming with 81,158 vehicles, while the exported vehicles reached 23,157 vehicles.
Total import-export turnover is estimated at 17.8 billion USD, with a growth rate of up to 28%. Of which, customs declaration opening activities in Lang Son area reached more than 1.1 billion USD. Although exports have decreased slightly, imports have increased by nearly 40%.

Notable in that economic picture is Chi Ma Border Gate - which used to be a bottleneck, but now has become a bright spot.
Since the beginning of the year, Chi Ma Border Gate Customs has received more than 6,400 declarations, double the same period last year. turnover reached more than 132 million USD, of which exports grew impressively, up to 119.5%.
Not only increasing the quantity of goods, the number of participating enterprises also exceeded 370 units. Budget revenue from import-export activities reached more than 225 billion VND, reaching over 37% of the annual estimate.
Export goods are diverse, from jackfruit, durian, pine resin to electronic components. The main import sources are fabric, clothes, shoes and household appliances.

However, the import-export picture still has uneven color patches.
Talking to reporters, Mr. Doan Thanh Son - Vice Chairman of Lang Son Provincial People's Committee - said that the difference between customs clearance points and imbalances between import and export are still a concern.
Partly because of the crop season - at this time, the exported fruits have not yet entered the main crop. Another part is that expectations for key products such as durian have not been met as expected.
"However, with positive results since the beginning of the year, we believe that the picture of import and export in 2025 will achieve impressive results," said Mr. Son.
In 2024, import-export turnover through border gates in Lang Son reached a record level.
Accordingly, as of December 31, 2024, the total import-export turnover through the province of all types reached approximately 70 billion USD, an increase of 30% over the same period in 2023.
Regarding state budget collection, over VND 7,000 billion was collected in 2024, reaching 142% of the assigned target and increasing by 148.4% over the same period in 2023.
