Gasoline and oil prices fluctuate in opposite directions from 3 PM on September 3rd
According to Official Dispatch No. 7010 dated September 3, 2026 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, from 3 pm on September 3, the price of E5RON92 gasoline increased by 723 VND/liter to a maximum of 22,486 VND/liter; E10RON95-III gasoline increased by 672 VND/liter to 23,274 VND/liter.
Meanwhile, diesel oil decreased by 341 VND/liter to 27,743 VND/liter and fuel oil decreased by 499 VND/kg to 17,641 VND/kg.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance continues to set aside the Price Stabilization Fund for diesel and mazut oil at 200 VND/liter. The economy in the first 8 months of the year grew positively, FDI achieved the highest level in 5 years
In the first 8 months of 2026, many growth drivers of Vietnam's economy continued to record positive results. The Index of Industrial Production (IIP) increased by 11.9% over the same period, the highest increase in 8 months in many years.
The whole country has nearly 138,100 newly established businesses, with registered capital of nearly 1.71 million billion VND; however, the number of businesses withdrawing from the market is still at a remarkable level, averaging 19,700 businesses per month.
Foreign investment capital continued to increase sharply, with total registered FDI capital reaching 40.63 billion USD, an increase of 55.4%; realized FDI capital is estimated at 17.25 billion USD, an increase of 12% and the highest in 8 months of the past 5 years.
Import and export activities also reached a record with a total turnover of 770.14 billion USD, an increase of 28.7% compared to the same period, although the trade balance of goods recorded a trade deficit of 20.46 billion USD.

Besides production, investment and trade, services and tourism continue to make positive contributions. In 8 months, Vietnam welcomed 15.9 million international visitors, an increase of 14.4%. Ho Chi Minh City's commodity market stabilizes after holidays
After the September 2nd holiday, the fresh food market at traditional markets in Ho Chi Minh City returned to normal trading.

Purchasing power decreased slightly compared to peak days but remained stable; goods from localities to the city were quite uniform, helping items such as meat, fish, vegetables, and fruits maintain selling prices, without shortages or unusual fluctuations.
Binh Dien, Hoc Mon and Thu Duc wholesale markets continue to proactively regulate goods sources and quality control to meet shopping needs after the holiday. At supermarkets, prices of many essential commodity groups are also maintained stably, while some products continue to have discount and promotion programs to stimulate consumer demand.
According to the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center, coordination with retail systems to connect and introduce Vietnamese branded products is being promoted.

More than 2,600 trucks of goods pass through Lao Cai International Border Gate during 5 holidays
During the 5-day National Day holiday of September 2nd, import and export activities through Lao Cai International Border Gate were maintained stably, with 171 businesses and business households participating.
The Customs force has received and processed 1,702 declarations on the VNACCS/VCIS system, with a total import and export turnover of 45.3 million USD, of which exports are 31.9 million USD and imports are 13.4 million USD.

The volume of goods transported through the border gate continues to be high, with 697 vehicles carrying export goods and 1,996 vehicles carrying import goods completing procedures.
