Electricity demand in the Central region reaches maximum capacity
Many central regions recorded intense and especially intense heat with common temperatures of 38 - 40 degrees Celsius, in some places exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. Extreme weather caused electricity demand to increase sharply, and the total electricity consumption of EVNCPC reached a new record level of more than 98 million kWh/day.

Faced with increased load pressure, the Central Power Corporation requests member units to limit power cuts during times when the outdoor temperature is above 35 degrees Celsius and peak hot hours. The electricity industry also strengthens inspection of power grids, substations, arranges 24/24 hour on-duty forces and prepares sufficient supplies to quickly handle arising incidents.
EVNCPC recommends that people use electricity economically, safely and limit the simultaneous use of many high-capacity devices during peak hours from 4 PM to 11 PM to reduce pressure on the power system, contributing to ensuring stable power supply in the hot season. See more...

Dragon fruit prices fall sharply due to peak harvest season
Dragon fruit prices in Lam Dong province are falling sharply due to entering the peak harvest season. Type 1 white flesh dragon fruit is currently only purchased at about 5,500 - 8,000 VND/kg, while type 2 is down to 3,000 - 6,000 VND/kg, down 50-70% compared to the beginning of the year, causing many gardeners to face difficulties, even losses.
According to traders and the Binh Thuan Dragon Fruit Association, the main reason is the sharp increase in supply as many regions harvest together, while the domestic consumption market is competing with other fruits such as durian, mangosteen, and lychee. Export activities have also not improved, especially when Chinese dragon fruit enters the harvest season from May to November, increasing competitive pressure. See more...
