Tet purchasing power increases sharply
The Lunar New Year 2025 market is becoming more vibrant as purchasing power at supermarkets has increased by 20-30% compared to the same period last year. Ms. Le Thu Hang (Cau Giay District, Hanoi) shared: "I see that this year many supermarkets have strong discounts, a variety of goods, and more reasonable prices. Thanks to that, my family's Tet shopping is also easier."
In this context, retail systems have simultaneously launched promotional programs and festivals to attract customers. In Hanoi, the Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with 22 retail businesses to commit not to increase prices of essential goods during Tet. Authorities have stepped up market inspections to ensure an abundant supply of goods and stable prices.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade also requested large enterprises such as Saigon Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Corporation, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, and Vietnam Textile and Garment Group to maintain production during Tet, prioritize the use of domestic materials to reduce costs, and minimize shortages and virtual price hikes.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade encourages the promotion of large-scale promotional programs and deep discounts for essential products and high-quality Vietnamese goods to increase competitiveness with imported goods. Gasoline prices down, oil prices up
In the adjustment session on January 23, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline decreased compared to the previous adjustment period, at 20,592 VND/liter (down 158 VND/liter). The price of RON 95-III gasoline decreased compared to the previous adjustment period, at 21,142 VND/liter (down 78 VND/liter).
Prices of oil products also increased simultaneously. Of which, diesel 0.05S is priced at 20,194 VND/liter (up 412 VND/liter); kerosene has a new price of 20,110 VND (up 404 VND/liter); mazut is priced at 17,752 VND/kg (up 571 VND/kg).

Pig prices near Tet adjusted down in many places
The Vietnamese live hog market on January 23 decreased slightly compared to the previous day. The highest transaction price was 69,000 VND/kg and the lowest was 66,000 VND/kg.
The North recorded a loss of 69,000 VND/kg, the average price of pork in the region reached 67,700 VND/kg. Some provinces and cities have the same price of live pigs at 68,000 VND/kg such as Hanoi, Phu Tho, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Hung Yen...
