Phu Tho maintains double-digit growth in 2026
In the first 6 months of 2026, Phu Tho's GRDP increased by 10.18%, ranking first in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region, 7th in the country. The main driving force comes from industry - construction increased by 14.9%, services increased by 7.6% and agriculture, forestry, and fishery increased by 3.6%.
Notably, the "green channel" mechanism with processing procedures within 24 hours or shortening 50% of the time has contributed to improving the investment environment, helping the province attract more than 1.77 billion USD of FDI capital, nearly 5 times higher than the same period.
Besides the growth results, Phu Tho is focusing on handling prolonged backlog projects. The province has reviewed and digitized dossiers of 149 problematic projects; so far, 50 projects have been dismantled, the remaining 99 projects have had handling plans and are expected to be completed before December 31, 2026. Vinh Long is ready to become a renewable energy center
Vinh Long has a great advantage to develop renewable energy, with more than 130 km of coastline, 6 large river mouths and favorable wind and solar radiation conditions. The total technical potential of wind power is estimated at about 35,000 MW, of which offshore wind power accounts for the majority. By early 2026, the province has about 15 wind power projects in operation with a total capacity of about 650 MW, along with more than 1,200 MW completing procedures and construction.
The province identifies renewable energy as a new growth engine, not only creating budget revenue but also opening up jobs, promoting logistics, services and the marine economy. Vinh Long also focuses on completing the 110 kV, 220 kV and 500 kV power transmission systems to relieve capacity, and requires investors to use advanced technology, limit environmental impacts and ensure harmony of interests with the community.
By 2030, Vinh Long is oriented to develop dozens of wind and solar power projects with a total capacity of thousands of MW, gradually forming a renewable energy center of the Mekong Delta. See more...
Hung Yen longan expands market thanks to digital transformation
Hung Yen longan growing and processing knowledge" is listed in the National List of intangible cultural heritage, affirming the historical and cultural value of specialties associated with Pho Hien land. Hung Yen currently has more than 5,860 hectares of longan, along with more than 20 longan products that achieved OCOP 3-4 stars.
The province is focusing on preserving gene sources, developing growing areas according to VietGAP standards, organic direction and building a production - processing - consumption linkage chain.
Besides preserving traditional values, people and cooperatives are diversifying products, enhancing the economic value of longan trees. Preserving long-term specialty longan trees, selecting good varieties and controlling quality from care, harvesting to processing are considered important factors to maintain the Hung Yen longan brand.
Notably, the province is promoting bringing specialties to e-commerce platforms, in which mega livestreams on TikTok at Hung Yen Longan Longan Festival and Trade Promotion 2026 attracted more than 15,000 views, about 50,000 interactions and nearly 500 orders. See more...
