On December 9 and 10, the 19th session of the 10th term Binh Duong Provincial People's Council took place. According to the report, in 2024, Binh Duong will implement its socio-economic development plan in the context of many difficulties and challenges. To complete the plan, the Provincial People's Committee will promptly forecast the situation, seriously implement the Central's instructions and policies, and resolutions of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Council; at the same time, resolutely deploy tasks and solutions to promote development in all fields.
Mr. Vo Van Minh - Chairman of Binh Duong Provincial People's Committee said that in 2024, it is estimated that 31/36 economic, social, environmental and smart urban targets will be achieved and exceed the plan.
Notable results include: Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) increased by 7.48%; GRDP per capita reached 181.2 million VND (plan 185.5 million VND);
The economic structure shifted in the right direction, the proportion of industry and services remained stable, reaching over 90% of the total economic scale. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue was estimated at nearly 352,000 billion VND, up 13.3%;
Export turnover reached 34.5 billion USD, up 12.7%; import turnover is estimated at 24.5 billion USD, up 12.2%, trade surplus of 10 billion USD;
Total social development investment capital is estimated to be nearly 162,000 billion VND, an increase of 11%. As of November 28, 2024, domestic investment attracted 77,131 billion VND. During the year, the Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy of 32 projects with a total investment capital of about 102,309 billion VND. Foreign investment attraction is estimated to reach over 2 billion USD by the end of 2024 (exceeding the 2024 plan);
Social security policies were well implemented such as: Issuing 18,803 health insurance cards to poor, near-poor and newly escaped poverty households; building and repairing 45 gratitude houses with a total cost of 2.7 billion VND; creating additional jobs for 36,000 people (reaching 102.85% of the plan).

Also at this session, based on the opinions and recommendations of voters and proposals of People's Council delegates, the Provincial People's Council committees, the Provincial People's Council Standing Committee organized a question and answer session with 2 groups of contents related to the fields of: state management of education and training; state management of culture - tourism.
At the same time, the session passed 31 important resolutions to create a legal basis for all levels and sectors to continue to successfully implement socio-economic development goals and tasks in 2025.
