On January 14, Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee organized a conference to summarize the work in 2025; deploy tasks and solutions for socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and the 2026 budget estimate.
According to Mr. Ha Quang Trung - Chairman of Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee, in 2025, the province basically completed socio-economic development targets with 41/43 component targets achieving and exceeding the plan. GRDP growth rate is estimated at 7.52%; GRDP per capita reached 79 million VND, an increase of 16.4 million VND compared to 2024.
The bright spot in the province's economic picture is state budget revenue estimated at 3,573 billion VND. This figure is not only higher than the estimate assigned by the Central Government and the Provincial People's Council, but also recognized as the highest revenue level ever.
Regarding economic structure, agricultural production continues to develop stably. The industrial - construction sector maintains a fairly strong growth momentum with industrial production value estimated at 9,503 billion VND, an increase of 10.6% compared to the previous year. Tourism activities attracted about 1.47 million visitors to Lai Chau.
In 2025, Lai Chau has created new jobs for over 10,000 workers. Some key projects and the system of inter-level boarding schools (Primary and Secondary) in 5 border communes have been started, ensuring the set schedule.
In 2026, the province identified 14 main target groups, of which the GRDP growth target is 10%; state budget revenue in the area reaches over 2,727 billion VND; reducing the poverty rate at 3.88%.
