Phuong Dong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (OCB) has just increased online deposit interest rates by 0.1%/year for terms from 6-36 months, applying to all three groups of deposits under 100 million VND, from 100-500 million VND and over 500 million VND.
For deposits under 100 million VND, interest rates for terms of 6-11 months and 13-15 months are increased to 6.5%/year; terms of 12 and 21 months to 6.8%/year; term of 18 months is 6.7%/year; term of 24 months is 6.9%/year and term of 36 months is 7.1%/year.
For deposits from 100-500 million VND, interest rates for terms of 6-11 months and 13-15 months increased to 6.6%/year; terms of 12 and 21 months are 6.9%/year; term of 18 months is 6.8%/year; term of 24 months is 7%/year and term of 36 months is 7.2%/year.
For deposits over 500 million VND, interest rates for terms of 6-11 months and 13-15 months increased to 6.7%/year; terms of 12 and 21 months reached 7%/year; term of 18 months was 6.9%/year; terms of 24 and 36 months increased to 7.1% and 7.3%/year respectively.
OCB maintains the interest rate for terms of 1-5 months at 4.75%/year for online savings. The bank also continues to maintain a special interest rate of 8.5%/year for customers depositing at the counter for terms of 6 months and 12 months, applicable to deposits from 1,000 billion VND or more.
To date, 4 banks have adjusted interest rate schedules in May. Among them, VPBank reduced interest rates; Bac A Bank increased interest rates for 13-month terms; OCB increased interest rates for many terms; Saigonbank strongly increased online savings interest rates for 13-month terms from 7%/year to 7.9%/year, and the bank also reduced deposit interest rates for terms from 7-11 months and from 18-36 months.
