Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank (ACB) simultaneously increased interest rates for all terms. In which, interest rates for terms of 1, 2 and 3 months were increased to 4.75%/year, respectively increasing by 0.25 percentage points, 0.15 percentage points and 0.05 percentage points. This is also the maximum interest rate according to the State Bank's regulations for term deposits from 1 month to under 6 months.
For deposits at the counter, ACB lists an interest rate of 4%/year for a 1-month term; 4.2%/year for a 2-3 month term; 4.6%/year for a 4-month term and 4.75%/year for a 5-month term.
Longer terms have significantly lower interest rates than online deposits. The counter interest rates for 6-month and 9-month terms are 4.5%/year and 4.7%/year respectively. The 12-month term is listed at 5.3%/year, while terms from 13-36 months have an interest rate of 5.4%/year.
ACB continues to apply a special interest rate of 7%/year for customers who deposit savings at the counter for a 13-month term, receive interest at the end of the term and have a balance of 200 billion VND or more. In case of choosing the form of interest payment at the beginning of the term, the applied interest rate is 6.75%/year.
Before ACB, VCBNeo also unexpectedly increased deposit interest rates on a large scale. This bank raised online interest rates by 0.3 percentage points for terms of 1-5 months to the ceiling of 4.75%/year, and also increased by 0.5 percentage points for terms of 6 months or more, bringing interest rates back to 7%/year after two consecutive reductions at the end of April.
