On the afternoon of September 9, Lao Cai Border Gate Customs Branch (Lao Cai Customs Department) informed that the unit had just received a notice from China about the temporary suspension of import and export activities through Kim Thanh International Road Border Gate No. II due to the impact of floods.
On the same morning, import and export activities through the area were still taking place normally.
By 10am, Lao Cai Border Gate Customs Branch had completed procedures for nearly 200 import and export vehicles, of which 76 vehicles were exported and 117 vehicles were imported.
Main export goods are fruits: durian, dragon fruit, green banana...; main import goods are: vegetables, tubers, fruits, fertilizers...
According to statistics from the Department of Industry and Trade of Lao Cai province, during the National Day holiday this year, at the Kim Thanh International Border Gate on Road 2, an average of 550 vehicles cleared customs each day. Of which, 160 vehicles were exported per day and 390 vehicles were imported per day.
