On the afternoon of September 9, information from Lao Cai Province Water Supply Joint Stock Company said that the circulation of storm No. 3 (Yagi) caused heavy rain and landslides, affecting the production activities of a number of clean water factories.
Level I pumping stations of Coc San Water Plant, Bao Yen Water Plant, and Simacai Water Plant were flooded; at Bat Xat Water Plant and Van Ban Water Plant, the flood from upstream had high turbidity, affecting the production of clean water for daily use.
In order to ensure water quality and prevent incidents of loss of life and property, Lao Cai Water Supply Joint Stock Company has temporarily stopped supplying water (force majeure) in Simacai and Bao Yen districts, and limited water supply to areas heavily affected by floods in Lao Cai city and some communes and towns of Bat Xat and Van Ban districts since September 9.
The unit has a production plan and method so that as soon as the rain and flood subside and the water turbidity is guaranteed, water will be supplied again to serve the people.
