Lao Cai - A series of industrial parks approved for investment, contributing to completing production infrastructure, attracting businesses, and creating jobs for people.

Forming large-scale industrial parks

According to reporters' records, in just a few months, Lao Cai province has continuously approved investment policies for many large-scale industrial parks in the direction of ecological industrial parks.

This marks a strong shift in the strategy of industrial development and investment attraction.

Most recently, on July 24, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy and also approved the investor of the project to invest in construction and business of Cam Duong Industrial Park infrastructure in Cam Duong ward.

The project has an area of 196.3ha, with a total investment of 1,996 billion VND, and is implemented in two phases. The investor is Le Premium Investment Joint Stock Company.

In which, phase 1 with an area of 90ha is expected to be completed and put into use in the third quarter of 2028; phase 2 with an area of 106.3ha will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2030. When put into operation, the industrial park is expected to create jobs for about 5,000-7,000 workers.

Previously, on July 2, Lao Cai province also approved investment in Phu Xuan Industrial Park and Phu Xuan 1 Industrial Park with a total area of 500ha, total registered capital of 5,462 billion VND.

According to the plan, the two projects will complete infrastructure investment in early 2028 to attract secondary investors.

The two industrial parks are planned in a modern, synchronous direction, prioritizing the development of high-tech industries, along with warehouse and logistics systems serving the supply chain on the economic corridor along the Red River...

After going into operation, the two projects are expected to create jobs for about 15,000-20,000 workers.

By July 16, Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee continued to approve the investment of Vo Lao Industrial Park with an area of 482.6ha, with a total capital of more than 5,171 billion VND.

The project is divided into two phases, in which phase 1, 200ha wide, is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2029, phase 2, 282.6ha wide, will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2032.

According to the plan, Vo Lao Industrial Park is developed according to the model of a comprehensive, multi-industry industrial park, producing consumer goods and deeply processing products from Tang Loong Industrial Park.

The project is expected to create jobs for about 10,000-15,000 workers.

At the end of June, Ban Qua Industrial Park was also approved for investment with a scale of 76.39ha, with a total capital of more than 1,360 billion VND. The project is expected to complete infrastructure in early 2027, creating jobs for about 2,000-3,000 workers.

Promoting border gate and economic corridor advantages

The common point of new industrial parks is that they are all planned according to ecological industrial park standards, prioritizing high-tech, clean industry and logistics industries.

In which, Ban Qua Industrial Park is located in Lao Cai Border Gate Economic Zone, near Ban Vuoc International Border Gate and Ban Vuoc Shoal Port, directly connected to the Yunnan market and the Southwest region (China).

Phu Xuan, Phu Xuan 1 and Cam Duong industrial parks are located on the industrial development axis along the Red River, conveniently connected to the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, National Highway 4E, international intermodal railway and the province's logistics system.

The simultaneous formation of industrial parks not only meets the land fund needs for secondary investors but also creates more room for the development of processing and manufacturing industries, increasing added value from minerals and agricultural and forestry products.

According to the plan, 5 industrial parks including Ban Qua, Phu Xuan, Phu Xuan 1, Vo Lao and Cam Duong have a total area of about 1,255ha, with a total investment of more than 15,000 billion VND.

When completed, the projects are expected to create jobs for about 32,000-45,000 workers, and at the same time supplement a large-scale industrial land fund to attract secondary investors in many fields.

According to leaders of Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee, developing the industrial park system is one of the key tasks to create new growth momentum and promote economic restructuring towards industrialization and modernization.

The province also prioritizes attracting projects using advanced technology, clean technology, with high added value, associated with deep processing of minerals, agricultural and forestry products, logistics development and taking advantage of the Kunming - Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong economic corridor.

Along with the completion of transport infrastructure, border gate infrastructure and logistics zones, the establishment of new industrial parks is expected to create a modern production network, improving the competitiveness of Lao Cai.

Thereby, gradually turning the locality into an important industrial, logistics and goods transshipment center of the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.
