Mr. Nguyen Ba Cong (resident of Tam Hiep ward, Dong Nai city) previously had 7 rented rooms consuming electricity with an average cost of about 3.5 million VND/month, but since installing the solar power system, the electricity bill has decreased to about 1-1.2 million VND/month. In the near future, Mr. Cong plans to install another system for the second row of rented rooms.
Mr. Cong said: In September 2025, the family invested in a system including 14 panels and 1 storage unit. The electricity produced is used directly during the day, and the surplus is stored for use in the evening. When the stored electricity is not enough, the system automatically switches to using grid electricity.
Similarly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan's family (residing in Tran Bien ward, Dong Nai city) has installed a solar power system including 20 panels and a 30kWh storage system to use for her house and rented room for about 18 months. Previously, her family had to spend 2.5-3 million VND per month on electricity, but now it has decreased to only 60-100,000 VND/month. Therefore, despite fluctuating electricity prices, she still maintains the same electricity price at rented rooms, contributing to supporting tenants to stabilize living costs.
Mr. Le Duy Hien, Head of Business Department, Dong Nai Power Company (PC Dong Nai) said: The fact that people and businesses proactively install self-produced and self-consumed solar power systems brings many practical benefits, customers can proactively source electricity on the spot, thereby significantly reducing monthly electricity bill costs. On the national power system side, this solution contributes to sharing the pressure of supply during peak hours, helping the power grid operate safely, and at the same time actively contributing to the goal of green energy transition.
To make people's solar power investment truly safe and sustainable, PC Dong Nai recommends that people and businesses should carefully survey to choose installed capacity suitable to actual needs, avoid wasteful investment; Strictly comply with new legal regulations and technical safety and fire prevention and fighting standards; Maintain periodic maintenance and cleaning of solar panels to optimize the efficiency of the solar power system.
