On the morning of December 17, at An Giang University (Ho Chi Minh City National University), Long Xuyen City, the opening ceremony of the Mekong Connect Forum 2024 took place.
With the theme: “Promoting economic, trade and technological cooperation in the Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country, towards sustainable development in the new competitive context”, the Forum attracted the attention of central and local leaders, economic experts, investors... at home and abroad.
Mekong Connect 2024 is sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Science and Technology, co-organized by the People's Committee of An Giang province and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; and accompanied by the provinces and cities: Ben Tre, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Hau Giang and Vinh Long.
In his opening speech, Mr. Le Van Phuoc - Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, the event's host, emphasized: "This forum focuses on three key areas to promote cooperation in economics, trade and technology. This is the foundation to promote regional economic linkages, promote local internal strength, connect with Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country, towards the goal of green and sustainable development."
With the spirit of "Connection", "Sustainable Development" and "New Competition", during 2 days of operation (December 17-18), the Forum organized a series of important activities, such as: Livestream sales session; Signing ceremony of cooperation agreement...
In particular, the workshop and discussion events aim to provide strategic perspectives, motivate practical actions, help localities connect more closely towards developing a circular economy, responding to global climate change and creating sustainable value chains in the future.
Accordingly, the forum organized 1 workshop "Developing indigenous resources and local economy through regional linkage in the new competitive context" and 2 discussions "Investment capital for sustainable linkage"; "Human resources for sustainable linkage".
