On the afternoon of December 10, in Long Xuyen City, the Organizing Committee of the Mekong Connect Forum 2024 held a press conference to introduce the series of activities and important contents at this event to promote economic and trade cooperation.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy - Vice Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Le Trung Hieu - Director of An Giang Trade and Investment Promotion Center, Ms. Vu Kim Hanh - Chairman of the Association of High-Quality Vietnamese Goods Enterprises co-chaired the press conference.
In her welcoming speech, on behalf of the leaders of An Giang province, Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy expressed her joy at being chosen to host this important event. Ms. Thuy hopes that the Forum will help localities promote their local advantages, connect and cooperate together for mutual development...
With the theme: "Promoting economic, trade and technological cooperation in the Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country, towards sustainable development in the new competitive context", the Mekong Connect Forum 2024 will take place for 2 days, December 17-18, 2024 at An Giang University, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province.
Mekong Connect 2024 is sponsored by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Science and Technology, co-organized by the People's Committee of An Giang province and the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; and accompanied by the provinces and cities: Ben Tre, Can Tho, Dong Thap, Hau Giang and Vinh Long.
This is the first time An Giang has organized the Mekong Connect 2024 event. With the spirit of “Cooperation”, “Connection”, “Integration” and “Development”, Mekong Connect will discuss to come up with strategic directions to improve the quality of the value chain and supply chain of the Mekong Delta region.
This year, Mekong Connect 2024 focuses on three key areas: economy, trade and technology. With the spirit of “connection”, “sustainable development” and “new competition”, Mekong Connect 2024 promises to bring a variety of content, creating momentum for innovative initiatives. Notably, the forum is also a gathering place for outstanding start-ups (in agriculture) across the country, where the Executive Board of the 3-region Green Farming Business Club is launched.
In particular, this Forum also welcomed a high-ranking delegation from OTOP Thailand, the Royal Thai Economic Development Advisory Council, the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and startups from Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, etc. to attend.
In addition, the Forum also organized many discussion sessions to bring diverse perspectives, sharp analysis and creative solutions to strengthen cooperation in the region and Ho Chi Minh City.
