Expanding agricultural product output
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Vinh Long - said that finding stable output for agricultural products requires synchronous implementation from production, processing to consumption, associated with safety processes to enhance product reputation.
According to Mr. Tuan, by mid-2025, Vinh Long has had 1,071 certified OCOP products, of which 186 products achieved 4 stars and 10 products achieved 5 stars, creating a foundation for local agricultural products to participate more deeply in the modern distribution system.
In particular, the recent "Extending Vinh Long Agricultural Products" Week on TikTok Shop and Sendo Farm consumed more than 185 tons of agricultural products, recorded 622,000 livestream views and nearly 1.57 million interactions, contributing to bringing Vichy year grapefruit, orange, coconut, and Vinh Long sweet potatoes to consumers nationwide.

Mr. Tuan emphasized that in the coming time, the industry and trade will continue to promote digital transformation, market management, fight counterfeit and poor quality goods, and support businesses in promoting products.
The industry also focuses on upgrading OCOP products from 3 stars to 4-5 stars, considering this a key direction to build a sustainable Vinh Long agricultural product brand, increasing domestic and foreign competitiveness.
"From now until the end of the year, the industry and trade will promote order signing, trade promotion and build free livestream rooms to support farmers, cooperatives, and businesses selling online, promoting sustainable consumption," Mr. Tuan added.
Changing the mindset of production and consumption
With support from the industry and trade, farmers and businesses in Vinh Long have also proactively changed their thinking about production and consumption.
Mr. Tran Thanh Ha (Dong Hau Hamlet, Dong Thanh Ward) said that he has been attached to 6 year-old grapefruit crops for more than 13 years, applying the VietGAP process, recording production logs, using organic fertilizers and properly managing pests and diseases.
"Thanks to that, grapefruit is both delicious and safe, and consumers trust it. Each month, 3-4 tons are harvested in the favorable season, and 50% are reduced in the off-season. Thanks to the connection with businesses, the output is stable, no longer worried about the "istically good harvest", Mr. Ha added.

Not only stopping at production, many businesses have boldly gone deeper into processing.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Viet - Director of Nhat Ngoc Banh Company Limited (Tan Hanh Ward) - said that from Vinh Long sweet potatoes, he has developed many products such as banh phong, banh thu sweet potato, banh lo bien dried sweet potato, ... meeting 4-star OCOP standards.
"In sau processing helps sweet potatoes go beyond the limit of raw products, becoming a specialty with high added value, both expanding the market and creating more jobs for local workers," Mr. Viet added.
In the modern distribution channel, Mr. Van Quoc Hoang - Director of Co.opmart Vinh Long - said that 90 - 95% of goods on supermarket shelves are Vietnamese goods, including many specialties and OCOP products of Vinh Long.
"The supermarket also organizes mobile points of sale, the program "Bringing Vietnamese goods to rural areas", contributing to bringing Vinh Long specialties closer to consumers. This is a way to both consume effectively and build trust in local agricultural products," Mr. Hoang added.
