On September 7, the authorities of Ia Lap commune (Dak Lak province) are still supporting local people in evacuating their assets and taking people to safety due to the complicated developments of floods.
Mr. Nguyen Tuan Vu (Trung village, Iaiap commune) said: " Heavy rain from September 5 to now has caused property damage to many people in the village.
My family is storing rice at home, the water suddenly rose so we couldn't move in time. Fortunately, thanks to the support of the border guards and militia, the family's assets have not been lost."

In the same situation, Mr. Nguyen Hoang Tuan (Trung village, Iaiap commune) sat in the temple and looked out at more than 1 hectare of watermelon submerged in floodwater. For Mr. Tuan's family, the watermelon that is submerged in water is the main source of income from now until the end of the year.

Mr. Tuan shared: "The floodwaters suddenly rose, leaving the family unable to react. This year, the flood came earlier, the elderly in the house had evacuated to higher ground to avoid flash floods at night''.

Mr. Bui Tien Hoat - Vice Chairman of Ia Lap Commune People's Committee - shared: ''On the night of September 6 and early morning of September 7, the floodwaters rose high to separate and isolate the entire Trung village. The local government has anticipated the situation and mobilized people to evacuate to safety.
By the morning of the same day, the border guards had assisted the People's Committee of the commune in evacuating more than 10 households in Trung village to the highlands.
'This year, the flood came early, which surprised us quite a bit, fortunately there were no human casualties. The local government has closely monitored the situation and brought people to safety if the flood continues to be complicated, Mr. Hoat added.

According to information from the Dak Lak Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, it is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the province will continue to have heavy rain, with total rainfall reaching 30 - 60 mm, some places over 80 mm.
Many low-lying areas, along rivers and streams in the western part of the province are at risk of local flooding and the underground areas are cut off from traffic.
In the face of the above situation, the Department of Agriculture and Environment requests the People's Committees of communes, wards and related units to urgently deploy response measures.
For plains and mountainous areas, local authorities need to review and prepare plans to evacuate people from dangerous areas at risk of deep flooding and landslides.
