According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Construction, vehicles are allowed to run at a maximum speed of 80km/h on the Ha Long - Cam Pha coastal road from mid-2024, but at that time it was only applied in a few short sections.
To date, the maximum speed of 80km/h has been applied on the entire route of about 18.7km, except for some traffic junctions.
The Ha Long - Cam Pha coastal road is 18.7km long, including 6 lanes, with a total capital of more than 2,200 billion VND, inaugurated on April 30, 2023.
Previously, this beautiful, wide and modern road had too many speed limit signs, affecting the traffic capacity and promoting the investment efficiency of the road. In which, there are quite a few sections that are only allowed to travel at a speed of 40km or 50km/h and the highest speed is only 60km/h.

Faced with the inadequacy of speed limiting, while the road is beautiful and wide, public opinion and voters proposed that Quang Ninh province study increasing traffic speed on this coastal road, which is among the most beautiful in the country, to both ensure traffic safety and effectively exploit the project.
After that, Quang Ninh province requested the old Department of Transport to study removing speed limit signs, increasing speed from 60km/h to 80km/h for sections outside residential areas. At some curves and tunnels, speed limit signs will be placed.
However, up to now, the maximum speed of 80km/h has only been applied on the entire route.
Ha Long - Cam Pha coastal road connects to Tran Quoc Nghien coastal road (4.7km long, belonging to Ha Long and Hong Gai wards, former Ha Long City) forming a coastal road about 23km long and is a road with many beautiful and impressive landscapes, with rocky mountains, sea, mangrove forests on both sides...
This 6-lane road also passes through Bai Tho mountain relic and many beautiful architectural works such as: Quang Ninh Museum, Planning Palace, Provincial Fairs and Exhibitions, and connects the World Natural Heritage Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay.
