After more than 5 years, this approach has contributed to forming a team of nearly 400 purely Vietnamese personnel and bringing Cake into the "Best Places to Work in Asia" group at HR Asia Awards 2026.
According to businesses, the working environment, human development, and organizational culture are designed in parallel to support innovation speed and the operational capacity of digital banking.
Developing the team along with the development of the organization
Currently, Cake has nearly 400 employees, all Vietnamese, directly researching, developing and operating all digital financial products and services for customers. According to businesses, the important thing is to build an environment for each individual to have the opportunity to learn, be listened to, be empowered and see their development path along with the development of the organization.
At Cake, employees are encouraged to proactively propose ideas, participate in solving practical problems and be responsible for their decisions. In parallel with that is the mechanism of efficiency recognition, continuous learning opportunities and an open working environment, where cooperation between departments is always encouraged.
According to Cake, attracting and developing personnel is always linked to the requirements of the business model and the development stage of the organization, rather than simply by personnel scale.
Connectivity is reflected by data
These efforts are partly reflected in the independent survey by HR Asia. The two indicators "will to continue to stick with the organization" and "ready to make efforts beyond expectations for the common goal" of Cake employees both reached over 95% of the maximum score.
Businesses also achieve scores on Tech Empowerment about 16% higher than the market average. According to Cake, technology is not seen as a substitute for humans but as a tool to help employees work more efficiently, spending more time on things that create value.

In addition, many criteria on open communication, trust, cooperative culture and development opportunities also achieved high scores in HR Asia's survey, reflecting the level of team engagement with the working environment.
Developing a team for the next growth stage
According to Mr. Nguyen Huu Quang, CEO of Cake Digital Bank, the greatest value from this year's awards is not in the title but in the recognition from those who are working at the business. "For us, it is proof of an environment where each individual is trusted, empowered and has the opportunity to develop with the organization. This is also the direction that Cake always persistently pursues: putting people at the center," Mr. Quang shared.
According to him, in the digital finance sector, technology can be invested in a short time, but the ability to innovate is only formed when businesses have a team that constantly learns, is willing to share and trust each other.
After more than 5 years of development, Cake currently serves more than 7 million customers and is the first net number bank in Vietnam to announce profit after about 3.5 years of operation. Business representatives said that these business results come not only from investing in products or technology, but also from building an organization where people are developed along with the maturity of the business.
For rapidly growing organizations, team development is no longer a separate activity of the human resources department, but becomes a part of the process of building organizational capacity to realize business strategies. Therefore, building an environment where employees are listened to, empowered and have development opportunities may be the decisive factor in maintaining innovation and sustainable growth in the long term.
