On the morning of August 28, the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee coordinated to organize a scientific seminar with the theme " Free Trade Zone model in some countries in the world - lessons for Quang Tri".
The workshop was chaired by Mr. Truong An Ninh - Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; and Mr. Ho Dai Nam, former Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department, with a scientific topic as the host.

In his opening speech, Mr. Ho Dai Nam emphasized that globalization and international integration are creating many new challenges and development opportunities. The formation of a free trade zone is not only a pure technical economic model, but also a strategic "push" for the locality to break through, take advantage of geographical advantages, trade corridors and logistics potential.
Mr. Ho Dai Nam cited that currently in the world there are about 5,400 free trade zones in 140 countries, many Asian countries such as China, Singapore, and South Korea have successfully developed this model, attracting hundreds of billions of USD in investment capital, contributing to shaping the international position of cities and countries. For Quang Tri, the research and implementation of this model will open up new development space, connecting more strongly with the region and the world.
The workshop focused on discussing and analyzing the theoretical and practical basis of the Free Trade Zone and construction experience in many countries, thereby proposing appropriate policy mechanisms applied to the Lao Bao - Densavan Cross-border Trade Zone and My Thuy Port in the Southeast Quang Tri Economic Zone.
The workshop included many reports, including topics: Experience in developing the free trade zone model in China; policies and lessons from the United States and some other countries; potential for developing trade zones associated with logistics; growth momentum of Quang Tri province; development trends associated with seas and ports; conditions for forming free trade zones in Quang Tri from domestic experience.
The workshop took place in one session, with sessions of discussion, focusing on and giving summary statements, to provide scientific arguments to serve the planning of policies for the development of the Free Trade Zone of the province.
