In the area south of Phan Thiet fishing port, many fishing boats returning from a night at sea.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Trong - a fisherman who goes fishing in a basket boat to catch crabs said that he went out to sea on the second day of Tet. Due to the nature of fishing close to shore, he set out early in the hope of catching fresh seafood to supply to the Tet market and seafood restaurants, because at that time, seafood is expensive.
The fishermen’s families were present at the seawall area to wait for the boats to reach the shore and help remove the nets. However, according to records, the amount of seafood that the fishing boats caught was not much, mainly anchovies and small crabs, but they were still purchased by traders on the spot.
