Recently, the pink moth has suddenly become the focus of the ornamental plant market when it appeared densely in livestream buying and selling sessions, attracting thousands of followers.
The pink one has the scientific name Syzygium myrtifolium, belonging to the sim family, and is popular for its small trunk shape, conical tendons, stone-based roots and outstanding young red pink leaves. The rustic, wild beauty but rich in aesthetics helps the plant easily win the sympathy of ornamental plant lovers.

According to the reporter's records, after spreading in some northern provinces such as Thanh Hoa and Ninh Binh, the pink fever quickly appeared in Phu Tho, concentrated in areas such as Lac Son, Yen Thuy, Lac Luong, Toan Thang communes...
In Yen Thuy, tree purchasing and exchanging activities are quite active, especially near Tet, causing the price of the cold pink to increase in a short time.
Mr. Bui Thanh Tung - a person specializing in purchasing red blood cells in Yen Thuy commune - said that the price of trees depends mainly on the size, shape and rarity.
"Newly exploited fruit trees often cost from a few hundred thousand dong to about 2 - 3 million dong. The planted trees with relatively beautiful shapes are commonly priced at 2.5 - 3 million VND.
With tea tree shapes and beautiful flight shapes, the price can be up to 7 - 10 million VND. In particular, some trees are paid several hundred million VND by bonsai enthusiasts to display or as a highlight for Tet," said Mr. Tung.
According to Mr. Tung, the "unique - strange - rare" factor, combined with the mentality of being ahead of the market at the end of the year, has caused the price of the cold-fried rose rapidly.

Not only due to market demand, the cold pink fever is also being driven by stories associated with feng shui and fortune. Mr. Dang Thanh Nam - a ornamental plant collector in Hoa Binh ward - said that from a forest tree growing on a cliff, the rosy rao is quickly "labeled" as a Feng Shui tree thanks to the effect of social networks and the preference for strange and rare goods.
"The natural tree shape is very "ugly", when the Feng Shui element is added, the price of cold roses can easily be pushed up, even far exceeding the real value, causing many people to follow the virtual fever", Mr. Nam shared.

More worryingly, behind the million-dollar transactions is the risk of serious damage to natural forests. The ruoi grow on the steep rocky mountain slopes and cliffs, playing a certain role in stabilizing the terrain and balancing the ecology.
When people rush into the exploitation forest, the old trees are abandoned, the vegetation is broken, the soil and rocks lose their support, and are easily washed away, leading to the risk of landslides, especially during the rainy and stormy season.
Not stopping there, the search for ruoi mat also poses many potential risks to the safety of life. According to the Yen Thuy rangers, in recent times, there have been a number of serious mountain slides in Yen Thuy and Lac Thuy when people took the risk of climbing cliffs to find and exploit rosy roses.

Faced with this situation, the authorities of many localities have issued warnings. Speaking with reporters, Mr. Bui Duc Hien - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Toan Thang Commune, Phu Tho Province - said that the People's Committee of the commune has just issued a document requesting to strengthen management and prevent illegal exploitation, trading and transportation of rosy apricot trees in the area.
"The commune government requires functional forces and hamlet management boards to step up propaganda, increase patrols, inspections and strictly handle violations of forestry laws," Mr. Hien emphasized.
