Faced with unfavorable and unpredictable weather forecasts and developments, on November 6, Mr. Vu Thanh Hai - Director of Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant directly inspected the storm prevention work at the plant and directed affiliated units to deploy proactive response plans, ensuring absolute safety for people and equipment when storm No. 13 made landfall.
Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper reporter, Mr. Vu Thanh Hai said that the disaster response work at the plant is carried out according to the unified direction of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN).
"In EVN, each unit has a natural disaster response team, rescue and prevention teams, working regularly, and being on duty 24/24 hours. Particularly for major storms such as storm No. 13, EVN has issued specific instructions, requiring the establishment of a working group headed by the Director to operate the entire response plan," said Mr. Hai.

Accordingly, the factory has organized meetings, disseminated to the heads of affiliated units, arranged and arranged personnel on duty, ensuring that all departments are ready when bad situations occur.
Areas vulnerable to strong winds have been inspected, reinforced, doors, roofs, outdoor equipment have been tied, and drainage systems and ditches have been cleared to avoid flooding.
"Regarding operation, the entire outdoor coal crane system has temporarily stopped operating, technical departments have arranged people to be on duty 24/24 hours. Communication is maintained smoothly through both the radio and phone systems.
The factory also has a natural disaster incident handling process built and regular training so that workers can grasp and handle it thoroughly when situations arise," said Mr. Hai.
According to Mr. Vu Thanh Hai, although Ninh Thuan area, now Khanh Hoa province, is less directly affected by major storms, every year there are often two strong wind blows.
"We always maintain a spirit of not being subjective. The operating force is used to controlling large winds to avoid spreading dust into the environment.
Before the storm made landfall, the factory held inspection meetings, requesting each unit to report the preparation progress. As of today, all departments are ready, and the brothers are implementing the work very proactively," Mr. Hai added.
Proactive response before, during and after the storm is considered a key factor for Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant to ensure safe operation, maintain a stable power source, and contribute to continuous power supply to the National system.
