When storm No. 13 (Kalmaegi) made landfall in the eastern area of Dak Lak province with gusts of level 12 13. The locality recorded 1 death due to house collapse.

At the Forward Command Headquarters located in Song Cau Ward, the authorities confirmed a death due to a collapsed house. The victim was Mr. Nguyen Quang Thang (born in 1980, residing in village 4, Xuan Lanh commune).

At around 8pm the same day, heavy rain and strong winds caused his house to collapse. Although he was taken to the infirmary by local people for emergency treatment, Mr. Thang did not survive.

At the same time, hundreds of emergency calls from people whose roofs were blown off, their houses were flooded, and their homes were isolated during storms and floods were continuously sent to the contact points.

According to the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department - Dak Lak Provincial Police, within just 30 minutes, the unit received hundreds of emergency reports. Many people have left their phone numbers on social networks, hoping for support.

The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dao My province said that the forces have identified the locations of the rescue points and prepared vehicles to approach as soon as the winds have decreased.

"Currently, the wind is gusting to level 1213, the waves are very large so we cannot go out yet. The top priority is to ensure the safety of people's lives," he emphasized.

In localities such as Xuan Hai, Xuan Tho, Xuan Dai, Song Cau, hundreds of houses had their roofs blown off, many places were deeply flooded. The government continuously issued loudspeakers to instruct people not to go out when the storm is still strong, and to move to safe shelters.
