Recorded on August 2 in Ho Chi Minh City, many diamond business stores that previously announced they would resume operations in early August are still in a state of closed doors.
At a diamond shop on Nguyen Van Cu street (Cau Ong Lanh ward), a notice posted in front of the door said that the business would temporarily suspend operations for 10 days and would reopen from August 2. However, when reporters arrived at noon on August 2, the shop was still closed, with no employees working or customers coming to transact.
Similarly, some other diamond shops on Le Thanh Ton, An Duong Vuong streets... have also not reopened as previously announced. Inside the shops, there are no signs of operation, the rolling door system is still closed, while the notices of temporary business suspension are still kept unchanged.
Many customers when coming to transact have to return or switch to contacting online channels to find out information. However, the fact that the store has not resumed operations makes many people worried, especially customers who need to sell products, warranty or make pre-arranged transactions.
Up to the recorded time, the stores have not yet had an official announcement about the reopening time as well as the reason for continuing to extend the temporary suspension period.
While many stores have not yet reopened, the trading atmosphere on the gold, silver, and gemstone market in Ho Chi Minh City has also become quieter than before. At some stores, operations are still normal, and the number of customers coming to transact has not changed much. Trading activities are stable, mainly customers who need to buy jewelry or make small transactions.
