Bustling tobacco harvest season
In the early days of May, on the tobacco fields in Thai Hung and Hung Hung villages (Chan Hung commune), the harvesting atmosphere took place urgently and bustlingly. Farmers entered the peak period with harvesting, rolling, composting, slicing, drying... Information from the People's Committee of Chan Hung commune, the whole commune currently has about 175.5 hectares of tobacco cultivation area, accounting for nearly 40% of the spring crop area. Tobacco has long become a key crop bringing high economic efficiency to the people.

This year's tobacco crop is considered to be more prosperous when tobacco plants grow well, with few pests and diseases, yield reaching 60-80 kg/sao, many areas reaching 1 quintal/sao. Tobacco prices range from 150,000 - 200,000 VND/kg, bringing an average profit of 6-8 million VND/sao, much higher than rice cultivation.
Thanks to the application of technical advances, especially water-saving irrigation systems, the use of organic fertilizers and effective pest management, the quality of tobacco is increasingly improved, towards sustainable production. In the harvest season, the spirit of "exchanging labor" continues to be promoted. Households support each other from harvesting to preliminary processing, contributing to accelerating progress, reducing costs and increasing community cohesion.

Tobacco plants not only bring high economic value but also make an important contribution to agricultural restructuring, improving income and promoting sustainable new rural construction in Chan Hung commune.
Similarly in Vinh Thinh commune, this spring crop, the whole commune planted nearly 60 hectares of water spinach. Water spinach brings stable economic value to local people, helping to increase income and create regular jobs for rural workers in the off-season months.
