The Party Congresses at all levels of the Vietnam National Group of Industry and Energy (Petrovietnam) will be held from the beginning of the year to mid-June 2025. The direction of the congress is complicated and massive because the entire Party Committee of the Group has 943 Party organizations at all levels; including: 113 grassroots Party Committees, 39 grassroots Party cells, 14 departmental Party Committees and 777 subordinate Party cells (including 4 Party cells and 68 overseas Party members) with a total of 13,862 Party members.
Party congresses at all levels throughout Petrovietnam have aroused the desire to bring the Group to the next level with the country, creating new momentum and new energy for all cadres, party members and workers.
At the peak of the congresses, on April 9, 2025, the Prime Minister issued a decision to change the Group's name from "Vietnam Oil and Gas Group" to "Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group".
This renaming demonstrates Petrovietnam's growth, and at the same time demonstrates the absolute trust of the Party and Government in Petrovietnam when assigning the Group a new task and responsibility of pioneering and ensuring national energy security. At the same time, this is also a new source of pride for Petrovietnam cadres, party members, and workers.
After 50 years of establishment and development, Petrovietnam has become a leading enterprise nationwide in the energy sector; has completed synchronously, from searching, exploring, exploiting, distributing transportation, processing storage, import-export business...
At the same time, entering a new stage of development, becoming the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group with the orientation of moving 5 main fields to 3 development pillars (energy, Industry and High-Tech Services) by 2030, in line with the requirements of energy transition and sustainable development strategy.
Promoting the internal strength of each cadre, party member, and worker
In the past 5 years, Petrovietnam has successfully completed 12/12 targets set by the Resolution of the Congress for the 2020-2025 term. In particular, many targets were completed 1-2 years early, many targets set records and broke records themselves. The Group's profit exceeded 38%, the payment to the State budget exceeded 46% compared to the beginning of the term; the revenue in 2025 increased by 87% compared to 2020 and for the first time in the Group's history, the revenue in 2024 set a record of more than 1.2 million billion VND.
At the same time, the Group has successfully implemented the Petrovietnam Cultural recreation Project with the goal of: Creating a culture that is ahead of schedule, creating momentum for business regeneration. Forming a "culture of diverse governance" at the Group, creating a foundation, internal strength, bringing the brand value of Petrovietnam in 2024 to nearly 1.4 billion USD, three times higher than in 2019.
In particular, the Group has focused on overcoming and effectively handling difficulties, new tasks, weak projects/factories, putting into operation new works and projects such as: putting into operation Song Hau 1 and Thai Binh 2 thermal power plants...; launching the Lot B - O Mon project chain; putting into operation the Sao Vang - Dai Nguyet mine cluster; inaugurating the 1 million-ton Thi Vai LNG Port... Along with that is internal political review work to best prepare for the Party Congresses at all levels.
The entire Group has organized the installation of signs to celebrate the Party Congress with 9 typical works and products to celebrate the 4th National Party Congress of the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group and the 1st Government Party Congress (term 2025-2030), the 14th National Congress of the Party.
Of which, there are 6 works to celebrate the Group Party Congress, 2 works/products to celebrate the 1st Government Party Congress, and 1 work/product to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress.
Along with that, the entire Group promotes the internal strength of each cadre, party member, and worker, organizes patriotic emulation movements, innovations, emulation to welcome party congresses at all levels on projects and works...
The mark in the recent term has received special attention and attention from the Party and State when for the first time the Group produced and proactively supplied specialty fuels for national defense; ensured sovereignty and security at sea and operated, responding to unusual developments in the East Sea.
Over the past term, the Group has faced many difficulties and challenges, but the Group has actively implemented social security programs with a total cost of VND 3,569 billion; supported and built 10,262 Great Unity houses (exceeding the emulation plan to build 4,000 Oil and Gas clerical houses) to celebrate party congresses at all levels throughout the Group.
The successful marks in the past term have contributed to affirming the Party's leadership role in all aspects of the Group's activities. It is the connection between Party work and business life that clearly demonstrates synchronization and creates a solid foundation for the Group's development.
