According to information from the Hai Phong City Market Management Department, recently, market management teams have organized inspections and handled organizations and individuals using e-commerce websites to sell goods, conducting business activities through mobile applications, social networks such as Facebook, Zalo... with signs of violations. In particular, focusing on subjects taking advantage of e-commerce activities to trade in smuggled goods, counterfeit goods, prohibited goods, goods of unknown origin, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights.
On October 4 alone, Market Management Teams No. 6, 7, and 8 inspected 5 business establishments in the city. Through the inspection, 2 business households committed violations: not notifying the e-commerce website selling goods to the competent state management agency as prescribed before selling goods; not publishing or not fully publishing on the e-commerce website selling goods information about the website owner; information about goods; information about transportation and delivery; information about general transaction conditions; information about payment methods as prescribed.
The remaining 3 businesses showed signs of taking advantage of Facebook to trade in counterfeit trademarked goods, temporarily seizing 173 products with signs of counterfeiting protected trademarks in Vietnam such as Chanel, Dior, Gucci, Adidas, Nike with a total value of goods of 28,730,000 VND.
Currently, the inspection team has temporarily detained all of the above-mentioned infringing goods. At the same time, they are coordinating with the representative of the industrial property rights owner to complete the dossier and handle it according to regulations.
