It is no coincidence that road 28B has received the attention of people and businesses in recent times. The road, about 69km long, has just been upgraded and expanded with a total investment of about 1,435 billion VND.
After completion, the road will not only play a traffic connecting role but also open up many economic development opportunities for localities along the route, especially in the fields of trade, services and tourism.
Currently, people in the eastern region of Lam Dong province and many localities in the Southeast region when moving to the center of Da Lat or in the opposite direction all choose National Highway 28B. Thanks to connecting with the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway and National Highway 1, travel time is significantly shortened.
Along with that, agricultural products from key production areas such as Don Duong, Ka Do, Ta Hine... are being transported to the southern region through National Highway 28B more and more thanks to the more open and safe route.
Mr. Tran Duc Hai, a truck driver carrying agricultural products running the Da Lat - Ho Chi Minh City route, said: "Previously, I mainly drove National Highway 20. Since National Highway 28B was upgraded, many drivers have switched to this direction to go down to Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway because it is faster and more airy.
Not only convenient for traffic, along National Highway 28B, there are also beautiful natural landscapes. On this route, many tourists stop to admire the mountains and hills and clear blue lakes blending together, creating a majestic natural picture.
Lam Dong has many famous destinations such as Da Lat, Mui Ne, Ta Dung... Strengthening connectivity between the highlands and the sea opens up opportunities for developing inter-regional tourism products, promoting local potential.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hai Dang, a resident of Ta Hine commune (Lam Dong), since the road was upgraded, people's travel and transportation of goods have become much more convenient.
National Highway 28B is a very important connecting route, creating conditions for people to develop the economy. However, due to the increasing traffic volume, functional agencies need to have long-term traffic safety assurance solutions," Mr. Dang shared.
According to Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi, National Highway 28B is an important driving traffic route. Localities and related units are urgently completing the remaining compensation and site clearance procedures to serve the construction and completion of the road.
Reality shows that when transport infrastructure is invested first, it will open up development room for localities. Therefore, along with completing National Highway 28B, localities need to focus on planning, managing corridors and using land reasonably to promote the effectiveness of investment resources and promote sustainable socio-economic development.
