The Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen province has just issued a document directing related to the case of a 7th grade female student in Quang Hung commune who had to be hospitalized for emergency treatment due to suspected pesticide use after being under psychological pressure from friends.
Mr. Pham Dong Thuy - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Hung Yen province - said that on the morning of March 18, the Department sent a document to the People's Committee of Quang Hung commune and Quang Hung Secondary School, requesting them to urgently grasp the situation to have a basis for directing and coordinating handling when necessary.
Accordingly, the two units were requested to review, verify and fully report on related contents such as time, location, diễn biến of the incident, current situation of students and the cause of the incident.
In particular, the Department requested to clarify the responsibility and handling methods of the school, including the implemented measures, coordination with families, functional agencies and further solutions to stabilize the situation.
Reporting must ensure truthfulness, objectivity, timeliness, and not delay information. In the process of handling, schools need to focus on stabilizing students' psychology, avoiding information spreading and negatively affecting the educational environment, and strictly complying with regulations on confidentiality.
Organizations and individuals who are irresponsible for causing the incident will be considered for handling according to regulations. Reports must be sent to the Department before 3:30 PM on March 18.
Previously, as Lao Dong Newspaper reported, at noon on March 16, P.T. T. H (a 7th grade student, Quang Hung Secondary School) after returning home from school showed symptoms of abdominal pain and vomiting. The family checked and found that she had ingested pesticide, so they immediately took her to the emergency room at Hung Yen Provincial General Hospital.
Thanks to timely intervention, by March 17, the female student had passed the critical condition and woke up. However, according to relatives, her psychology is still unstable, often panicked, scared and needs to continue to be monitored and supported.
Ms. Pham Thi Hien (H's aunt) said that her situation is quite special as she has been orphaned from a young age, currently living with her elderly paternal grandparents. Recently, she has shown signs of being teased and isolated by some classmates, causing prolonged mental pressure.
Regarding the incident, Mr. Chu Duc Anh - Chairman of Quang Hung Commune People's Committee - said that the locality has grasped the information and sent officials to visit and encourage the family. In case verification shows signs of school violence and the school is slow to handle it, the government will consider and handle it strictly according to regulations.
