According to the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Quang Ninh province, of these, there are 3 areas exploiting mine waste rock as landfill material; 7 areas of sand, soil, and rock mines as landfill material that have been granted mineral exploitation licenses and are eligible for exploitation; 4 construction investment projects with large amounts of excess rock and soil have been licensed for landfill for projects in the area.
In addition, there are some areas that are completing licensing documents to put into operation soon.
3 areas for mining waste rock and soil for leveling include: Waste dump outside South Zone 1 and waste dump inside Zone 1 - Nam Trang Bach mine, reserves of 4.73 million m3, exploitation period until November 8, 2025; target to grant for projects in Dong Trieu city and the riverside road project connecting from Ha Long - Hai Phong Expressway to Dong Trieu city, section from Provincial Road 338 to Dong Trieu city (phase 1).
Waste dump in 1 and 4 Nam Trang Bach - Nam Trang Bach mine, reserve 6.385 million m3, deadline until December 1, 2027; target to grant for projects in Uong Bi city and Quang Yen town.
Tay Khe Sim - Tay Lo Tri landfill, licensed since September 2021, with a reserve of 3.5 million m3, implementation period of 5 years; the target is to grant to the Bai Tu Long 2 Urban - Tourism and Service Area Project.
Areas of sand, soil and rock mines used as filling materials include: Sand mine in Quan Lan commune and Ngoc Vung commune, Van Don district of Quan Minh Company Limited, licensed since 2019, with an exploited reserve of more than 40.1 million tons of silica sand, more than 16.8 m3 of filling sand, exploitation capacity of 2,800,000 tons of silica sand/year, nearly 1.2 million m3 of filling sand/year; exploitation period until October 24, 2033.
Sand mine in Minh Chau commune, Van Don district of Tan Lap Trading Company Limited, licensed since May 2019; mining reserves of more than 4 million tons of silica sand, more than 2 million m3 of sand for filling; mining capacity of 650,000 tons of silica sand/year, 279,192 m3 of sand for filling/year; exploitation period until September 24, 2026.
Sand mine in Hai Tien commune, Mong Cai city of Phuc Hai Investment and Import-Export Company Limited, licensed in May 2024; exploitation reserves of nearly 7.6 million m3 of sand for filling, exploitation capacity of 1.6 million m3 of sand for filling/year; exploitation period until May 24, 2029.
The Tay Son village quarry, Binh Khe commune, Dong Trieu city of Truong Sinh Joint Stock Company, is licensed to exploit land for leveling the ground for the riverside road project connecting Ha Long - Hai Phong expressway with Dong Trieu city; Dong Trieu city central road project...; the reserve of exploited land for leveling is more than 5 million m3, exploitation capacity from 900,000 m3/year to 1,782,000 m3/year; exploitation period until December 31, 2027.
Bac Son Mine, Uong Bi City of Hung Thinh Construction and Transport Company Limited, was licensed in August 2023, with an exploitation reserve of more than 12.6 million m3, exploitation capacity of 1,700,000 m3/year; intended for use in the riverside road project connecting Ha Long - Hai Phong expressway with Dong Trieu City; exploitation period until June 30, 2031.
The quarry in village 5, Quang Nghia commune, Mong Cai city of Tri Duc Investment, Development and Construction Joint Stock Company, was licensed in December 2021, with an exploitable reserve of more than 14.4 million m3, an exploitation capacity of 2,000,000 m3/year of monolithic blocks; intended for use in the Van Don - Mong Cai Expressway Connection Project to Van Ninh port, the coastal road project connecting Van Don Economic Zone with Mong Cai Border Gate Economic Zone; exploitation period until June 21, 2029.
Quang Thanh Commune Soil Mine, Hai Ha District of Tri Duc Investment, Development and Construction Joint Stock Company, was licensed for exploitation in May 2023, with an exploitation reserve of more than 5.6 million m3, exploitation capacity from 677,407 m3/year to 1,500,000 m3/year; exploitation period until April 19, 2028.
