With a high sense of responsibility, Lao Cai Provincial Police, authorities at all levels, philanthropists and local people have supported the construction of 143 houses, with a total value of 19 billion VND for households that lost their homes due to storms and floods in Lao Cai province.
Of these, 114 houses have been completed and 29 houses are under construction. In particular, 2 resettlement areas with 65 houses for ethnic minority households have been completed from funds mobilized by the Ministry of Public Security and Lao Cai Provincial Police from philanthropists.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam - Deputy Minister of Public Security acknowledged and highly appreciated the sense of responsibility, efforts, and overcoming of difficulties of relevant units so that households could have new, solid and spacious houses.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam believes that with the new residence, people will feel secure in working and producing, actively participating in the national movement to protect national security, and ensuring social order and safety.
In his response, Standing Deputy Secretary of Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee Vu Xuan Cuong emphasized: The Party Committee, government, cadres, soldiers, and people of all ethnic groups in Lao Cai province would like to accept the opinions of the Deputy Minister of Public Security. Lao Cai province promises to continue to promote the tradition of great solidarity, ensuring that people enjoy spring and celebrate the traditional New Year of the nation in a warm and safe manner.
Actively coordinate with the Ministry of Public Security to continue to effectively implement sustainable poverty reduction solutions in the locality, eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses, and support people affected by natural disasters in the province to soon complete the goals set by the Party and policies of the State.
The resettlement area of Doi Gianh hamlet, Nam Than village, Lien Minh commune, Sa Pa town started construction on October 17, 2024, building 28 new houses for 28 households in areas at high risk of landslides. After 3 months of construction, it has now been handed over and put into use.
Each household is supported to rebuild their house from the State budget, with an amount of 80 million VND/household, area of 60.5m2/house. In addition, Lao Cai Provincial Police, philanthropists, and businesses also supported over 120 million VND to build houses in the resettlement area.
In the resettlement area of Ban Lau, Trinh Tuong commune, Bat Xat district, during the flood in September 2024, Trinh Tuong commune had 10 households completely lose their houses and 11 households need to urgently move.
Lao Cai Provincial Police have supported more than 5 billion VND to build 37 houses for households in Trinh Tuong commune and neighboring communes.
Each plot of land in the resettlement area has a total area of 192m2, the houses are built according to a common design, with a usable area of 62m2; brick foundation, reinforced concrete beams; walls with pillars; cement floor; corrugated iron roof.
