The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has received a report from the Central Credit Information Center of Vietnam (CIC) on incidents related to credit information at CIC. The State Bank has promptly directed CIC to urgently report and closely coordinate with competent state agencies to verify and handle, while ensuring CIC's operations are continuous and smooth.
CIC is one of 04 organizations licensed to provide credit information services in Vietnam.
Credit information collected by CIC according to the provisions of law does not include information about: deposit account, deposit balance, savings book, payment account, debit card number, credit card number, security code (CVV/CVC), payment transaction history of customers.
The information technology system of independent credit institutions and service provision activities of credit institutions are currently being implemented continuously, safely and stably.
The SBV has regularly directed and requested credit institutions to strengthen reviews, ensure strict compliance with legal regulations on security, confidentiality, safety of information technology systems, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of customers.
The illegal collection, processing, exploitation, use, exchange, and provision of credit information will be handled according to the provisions of law.
The SBV said that customers need to comply with legal regulations and instructions and recommendations from authorities on safety and security; follow the regulations, instructions and recommendations of credit institutions to protect their rights and interests, as well as avoid being taken advantage of by bad guys to spread malware, commit fraud, and appropriate property...
