Hà Vinh |

In the period 2026 - 2030, TKV is expected to continue to maintain and develop production and investment activities in Cao Bang province, striving for a total revenue of about 15,000 billion VND.

Creating jobs for more than 1,000 workers in the area

Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Holding Corporation Limited (TKV) currently has 4 member units operating in Cao Bang province. In the first 7 months of 2026, production and business activities of the units were basically maintained stably. Total revenue of the units reached about 1,380 billion VND, budget contribution of 654 billion VND, creating jobs for more than 1,000 workers, with an average income of 12 million VND/person/month.

Implementing the Development Strategy to 2030, vision to 2045, TKV Group identifies Cao Bang as one of the areas with an important role in mineral and metallurgical activities and related fields. In the period 2026 - 2030, TKV plans to continue to maintain and develop production and investment activities in the area, striving for total revenue of about 15,000 billion VND, budget contribution of about 930 billion VND, and creating jobs for more than 1,100 workers.

In the iron and steel sector, TKV focuses on maintaining the operation of Cao Bang Iron and Steel Complex; accelerating related procedures to put Na Lung Iron Mine Zone 4 into operation. At the same time, research and implement an investment project for a steel billet production line with a capacity of 70,000 tons/year.

Over the past time, Cao Bang province has coordinated and supported TKV in implementing projects, focusing on approving investment policies, allocating resettlement land funds, appraising project adjustments and removing procedures for planning, investment, and mineral exploitation.

However, according to Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Member Council of TKV Group Ngo Hoang Ngan, one of the tasks that needs to be focused on removing in the process of implementing projects in Cao Bang is site clearance. From the reality of project implementation, TKV and local authorities need to closely coordinate to ensure compensation work associated with site handover. TKV is committed to fully fulfilling its obligations according to regulations; and at the same time coordinate with the province in taking care of the lives and stabilizing housing for people in the project area.

Regarding the issue of management and use of waste soil and rocks, TKV hopes that the province will study appropriate mechanisms to effectively exploit this material source, thereby both reducing waste disposal pressure, limiting environmental impact, and contributing to solving the need for materials to serve infrastructure development projects in the area.

Focus on coordinating to remove bottlenecks

Highly appreciating TKV's contributions and companionship with the province over the years, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Council Phan Thang An and Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee Le Hai Hoa said that Cao Bang identifies TKV as an important partner, playing a role in the development of industry, exploitation and processing of minerals in the locality.

Therefore, Cao Bang province requests TKV to coordinate with departments, branches, and localities to continue to comprehensively review projects, investment activities, exploration, and mineral exploitation; specifically classify each difficult and problematic content to focus on solving. Issues under the province's authority need to be handled urgently and thoroughly; contents beyond authority need to be coordinated by both sides to complete dossiers and plans to report to competent authorities for consideration.

Regarding TKV's recommendations, departments, branches, and localities of the province will proactively review and clearly identify responsibilities, progress and handling plans for each content. Focus on removing obstacles related to site clearance, resettlement, transport infrastructure, planning and investment procedures, creating conditions for TKV's projects to be implemented in accordance with regulations and progress.

In particular, Cao Bang province will focus on coordinating to remove bottlenecks related to mineral exploitation and processing projects that are linked in TKV's production chain. In which, site clearance, resettlement arrangement and infrastructure completion to serve exploitation activities are identified as tasks that need to be focused on directing, ensuring harmony between the requirements of production development and investment of enterprises and the legitimate rights of people and the general development goals of the locality.
