4 goals for developing Vietnam's state audit
Speaking at the Conference, Party Central Committee member, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai - assessed that in the context of digital transformation, especially the rapid development of big data and artificial intelligence, the effectiveness and efficiency of information technology application of the State Audit need to be further promoted to keep up with trends and improve audit capacity.
The Strategy for the Development of the State Audit of Vietnam to 2030 was issued by the National Assembly Standing Committee in Resolution No. 999/2020/UBTVQH14 with 4 goals including:
The first is to improve the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of auditing activities; the second is to quickly adapt to new technologies, especially big data and artificial intelligence; the third is to ensure transparency, openness and accuracy in auditing work; and the last is to enhance the professional and technical capacity of the Auditor team.
According to Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai, one of the important goals identified in the strategy is to "Improve the electronic working environment of the State Audit in the direction of building data infrastructure, a centralized big data management system, connecting with related database systems to collect and apply analytical and forecasting tools to meet management requirements and develop audit activities in the digital environment.
“At the same time, promote the application of digital technology, typically big data technology, artificial intelligence, natural language processing tools, and the Internet of Things in auditing activities and internal management,” Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai emphasized.
According to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly, good data management and successful digital transformation of the State Audit of Vietnam are among the contents closely related to the "Project on building an electronic National Assembly towards a digital National Assembly" of the National Assembly of Vietnam. This Project is currently being developed and implemented.
At this Conference, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai acknowledged that this was a bold decision by the State Audit of Vietnam as the host, host and co-organizer.
"Storm No. 3 (Yagi) leaves behind severe consequences"
With the active participation of SAIs (supreme audit agencies), Mr. Nguyen Duc Hai believes that the Conference will share many good practices and valuable lessons, thereby helping SAIs and Vietnam to improve the effectiveness of professional operations.
Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai also expressed that this conference was held in the context of storm No. 3 (Yagi) which left serious consequences, both human and material losses in the northern region of Vietnam. The Vietnamese government and people are focusing on and making great efforts to overcome the consequences of the storm, and look forward to receiving sympathy and sharing from all delegates.
Also at the Conference, State Auditor General Ngo Van Tuan said that most recently, the State Audit of Vietnam attended the 7th Annual Conference of the Working Group, held in Egypt, with 70 delegates from 26 members/observers attending to share on the topic "Application of big data in auditing".
Following that success, at this conference, the State Audit of Vietnam coordinated with the State Audit of China to choose the topic "Data governance - a new effective tool in auditing - from the perspective of data quality" for SAIs to share knowledge and experience.
Mr. Tuan affirmed that this is one of the important premises for the State Audit of Vietnam to participate as an official member and have the honor of hosting the 8th Annual Conference of the Working Group.
