Tet is full thanks to economical and smart spending

Thu Giang |

The trend of smart Tet shopping is increasingly popular so that everyone has a more relaxed time, connecting family members.

In order to save costs during the Lunar New Year, Ms. Nguyen Thu Ngoc (39 years old, living in Hanoi) shared the secret to having a full and economical Tet is to follow and take advantage of promotional programs.

1 month before Tet, Ms. Ngoc also wrote a list of items, utensils, and products to buy during Tet. After that, she planned to "hunt for sale" at e-commerce platforms and large supermarkets to buy at the best price.

According to Ms. Ngoc, many people still think that shopping at large supermarkets will be expensive, but in fact, if you pay attention to promotions and deep discounts like Lunar New Year, consumers can easily balance their spending while still shopping for Tet fully.

Also planning to shop for the Lunar New Year, Mr. Nguyen Huu Bang (from Hoai Duc commune, Hanoi) said that depending on his income each year, his family will spend more or less.

Mr. Bang's family in recent years has also chosen to shop for Tet just enough, not wastefully, prioritizing connecting family members. His family also agreed to only spend on compulsory expenses, suitable for financial capacity, not "overspending".

Unlike in the old days, we only looked forward to Tet to have delicious food and new clothes, but now many families are fully equipped, and there is no shortage of anything on weekdays. My family in recent years has only bought enough food for 3 days of Tet, avoiding causing food oversupply until the full moon of the first lunar month, which is still not finished" - Mr. Bang said.

According to the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year holiday plan announced by the Ministry of Home Affairs, this year's Tet holiday schedule for officials, civil servants, and public employees lasts 9 consecutive days, while employees working in non-state sectors are entitled to a minimum of 5 days of leave as prescribed.

The Lunar New Year holiday in Binh Ngo 2026 starts from Saturday, February 14, 2026 (ie, December 27 of the year At Ty) and ends on Sunday, February 22, 2026 (ie, January 6 of the year Binh Ngo).

Out of a total of 9 days of holiday, there are 5 days of Tet holiday and 4 weekend days. Because the holiday falls entirely on the days adjacent to Saturday and Sunday, agencies and units do not have to arrange compensatory leave or swap working days.

For employees working in private enterprises, the Lunar New Year 2026 holiday schedule will be decided by the employer, but must ensure that employees have at least 5 consecutive days off according to the provisions of labor law.
