According to Mr. Viet, green apricot trees are often more expensive than yellow apricot trees because they are harder to find and harder to care for, and have more fragrance. For example, in Mr. Viet's apricot garden, a 2m tall apricot tree that is more than 20 years old costs more than 15 million VND/pot. A yellow apricot tree of the same height and age only costs more than 10 million VND. Mr. Viet also predicts that around the 26th of the 12th lunar month, many people will come to buy them to celebrate Tet.
At Mr. Loc's Binh Dinh apricot garden, the price of apricot flowers ranges from a few hundred thousand VND to more than 8 million VND per pot. "On the morning of January 21, my garden sold about 5-6 pots. In the last days of the year, close to Tet, the yellow apricot market will be more vibrant," said Mr. Loc.
According to Mr. Loc, he has been trading in the Da Nang market for many years now, so he has a firm grasp of most buyers' tastes. Most buyers like mai mot cot - mai with one branch reaching straight up to the sky, representing a year of peace and advancement.
According to Mr. Loc, this year there was a lot of rain and the apricot blossoms bloomed late, so the apricot market was more gloomy than before. Around the 26th and 27th of the 12th lunar month, the apricot market will be more vibrant.
The Danang Ornamental Plants Association also opened the third Danang Yellow Apricot Flower Exhibition and the 2025 Ornamental Plants Expansion on January 21.
