The People's Committee of Dong Nai province has just issued a document implementing the direction of the Provincial Party Secretary at the survey of locations for commercial, service and urban development around Long Thanh airport area.
Accordingly, regarding the invitation to invest in some urban development locations, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Construction to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the People's Committee of Binh An Commune, the People's Committee of Long Thanh Commune and related units to review all types of planning related to the area of about 1,400 hectares of the Long Thanh Smart Urban Area Project (adjacent to Loc An - Binh Son Resettlement Area) and the Land Area of about 500 hectares (adjacent to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway and the DT.769 route); agreed on opinions and advised on proposals to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration of investment plans, adjusting plans (if necessary) to ensure compliance with legal regulations, preparing procedures to invite investment to optimize space for development, promote land resources and create budget revenue.
For the Free Trade Zone associated with Long Thanh International Airport, it is a strategic breakthrough for the socio-economic development of the province in the new period. The province basically agreed on the project implementation location in the area of the southwestern gateway of Long Thanh airport.
The Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with the Department of Foreign Affairs and related units to urgently advise the Provincial People's Committee on the plan to organize a working group of the province to study experience in Da Nang City and the plan to organize and propose the members of the working group of the province to research and study the development model of free trade zones abroad with similar characteristics and have been successful such as: Korea, China, Japan...
On the basis of agreeing on the project implementation location, determining the boundary and organizing the planning of the proposed area of the Free Trade Zone associated with the completion of the Dong Nai Province Free Trade Zone Project to submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision.
In the process of completing, seriously accepting comments from central ministries, departments and branches; reviewing and adjusting the area of functional subdivisions (if necessary) to optimize sustainable development space, forming an open, dynamic and comprehensive economic ecosystem to create new growth momentum, with a vision of 50 years or more.
Previously, on August 18, 2025, Dong Nai Provincial Party Secretary Vu Hong Van had a survey of trade, service, urban development locations and functional subdivisions in the Long Thanh International Airport area.
