Hanoi City Police informed that the Economic Police Team (Tay Ho District Police) has just coordinated with Market Management Team No. 9, Hanoi Market Management Department to discover and temporarily detain more than 1 ton of pig's feet and trotters of unknown origin on the way to be sold.
Accordingly, at around 9:30 a.m. on October 11, the Working Group consisting of the two above units inspected the goods gathering point at lane 464 Au Co, Nhat Tan Ward (Tay Ho District), and discovered a truck with license plate 29Z-67XX, driven by Mr. P.H.C (born in 1974, residing in Hoang Van Thu Ward, Hoang Mai District, Hanoi) parked with suspicious signs.
Immediately afterwards, the working group conducted an administrative inspection. At the time of the inspection, the working group discovered that on the vehicle there were 161 plastic bags containing 1,610 kg of pork legs that Mr. P.H.C was transporting for consumption, without invoices or documents proving the origin of the goods.
The working group drew up a record to confiscate all the above food for destruction and fined Mr. P.H.C for trading in goods of unknown origin according to the provisions of Article 17 of Decree 98/2020/ND-CP dated August 26, 2020 of the Government regulating administrative sanctions for violations in commercial activities, production, trading of counterfeit and prohibited goods and protection of consumer rights.

The City Police recommends that people choose to buy food with clear origins at licensed businesses that meet food hygiene and safety conditions; each person must truly be a “smart consumer”, avoiding buying smuggled food of unknown origin and quality, which affects the lives and health of consumers.
In order to stabilize the market as well as protect the legitimate rights of producers, businesses and consumers, in the coming time, the functional forces in Hanoi will continue to be proactive and coordinate well in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods, goods violating food safety...
